Digital Transformation of Bulgarian Healthcare – From Myth to Reality

Over the past year and a half, the digital transformation of healthcare has emerged as one of the most important global topics. Health systems have faced the challenge of rapidly adapting their processes to work under epidemic conditions to protect people’s health. Some countries were better prepared to address these issues, while others’ healthcare systems are still undergoing full transformation to adequately respond to healthcare needs.

Despite the vast flow of information on the topic of digital transformation in healthcare, the concept is still not understood as a consistent and integrated process of reform in health systems. The same concepts, processes, and solutions are discussed, but from different perspectives and at different levels of understanding regarding the digitization process.

This is why the Bulgarian Cluster for Digital Solutions and Innovations in Healthcare, as one of the key stakeholders in the sector, has organized a series of training meetings on the topic “The Digital Transformation of Bulgarian Healthcare – From Myth to Reality,” to help define and understand an achievable and future-oriented vision for the development of digital healthcare.

At the upcoming meeting, aimed at the media, practical guidelines for building digital healthcare will be presented, along with the need for a comprehensive approach that works in favor of all stakeholders. We will discuss what is needed to reach a consensus on the digital transformation of healthcare in Bulgaria and provide suggestions for next steps.
