Modern digital solutions facilitate patient access to doctors.

Highly specialized software products and technological equipment in the healthcare sector, along with modern digital solutions, were the topics that sparked particular interest among the participants at the forum.
“Data-driven healthcare and increasingly easier access to medical services is the future. We are actively working in these directions by creating a ‘Digital Ecosystem.’ This platform, for example, will allow patients to access doctors without always meeting them in person, and receive more valuable medical services,” explained Mira Ganova, CEO of the Bulgarian Cluster for Digital Solutions and Innovations in Healthcare.
Dr. Branimir Raduilov, the administrative manager of Polyclinic Bulgaria, shared that, at this stage, our country is quite far behind in the digitalization of healthcare. Out of 35 ranked countries, Bulgaria is in 31st place, with the undisputed leader being the Netherlands. “It is noticeable that Serbia, for example, has moved up seven places in the rankings in just one year, now holding 18th place. This has been achieved through online doctor appointment bookings, issuing electronic prescriptions, and other online services. This must be widely implemented here as well,” stated Dr. Raduilov.
Yordan Iliev, co-founder and manager of My Synergy, mentioned that together with his colleagues, they are actively working on digital solutions to optimize business processes in healthcare. “Let me give you a specific example. One of the major problems in our healthcare system is the long waiting times for patients in front of doctors’ offices. We studied this process, and after summarizing the data, we are working on a system to optimize this process,” Iliev explained.
Todor Tsanev from B EYE explained that a primary challenge for healthcare organizations is the analysis of the enormous volume of data in their information systems, which would enable them to manage their processes more efficiently. “Through analytics solutions (Business Intelligence), we make it possible for data to reach all levels of an organization – managers, doctors, nurses – which allows them to improve the quality of medical services and optimize their costs. It is important that we start examining quality, not just the quantity of services performed,” he added.
