Entrepreneurship and innovation course in the Medical University Sofia for third year

For third year in the row, JA Bulgaria and Digital Health and Innovation Cluster Bulgaria (DHI Cluster Bulgaria), in cooperation with Novartis Bulgaria, are implementing a free elective course (UN!course) on entrepreneurship and innovation in medicine at the Medical Faculty of Medical University Sofia.

More than 4️⃣6️⃣0️⃣ students will be part of the lectures this year, which will be held every Thursday. The first UN!lecture took place on November, 11 with  3️⃣7️⃣0️⃣ students participating in the session on the topic of “Why Doctors Need Knowledge on Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Digital Healthcare?” led by Dr. Rosen Dimitrov, Public Affairs in Novartis Bulgaria and Vice President of DHI Cluster Bulgaria.

The course will run until the end of the academic year 2021-2022 and will address topics related to the development of entrepreneurial mindset and critical thinking and reading for medical professionals. These topics aim to facilitate the understanding, recognition and development of healthcare innovations and approaches and improve the work of future professionals employed in the healthcare structures. This year’s course will pay special attention to the topic of digital healthcare or “healthcare of the future” and how digital health solutions can support both the daily work of medical professionals, optimise the patient journey and improve patient outcomes, as well as support the sustainable and efficient functioning of the entire healthcare system.

In its second part, the course will give students the opportunity to meet guest speakers, experts from the technology, pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, who will present trends in the creation and development of digital solutions and innovations in medicine, the importance of data and analysis, as well as approaches to optimise workflows in healthcare settings, the work of physicians and improve patient outcomes based on technology.
